Global warming is a natural phenomenon. But the rate of global warming is accelerating by the rapid addition of Green House Gases (GHGs) as a result of burning of fossil fuels. Rising ambient temperatures, extreme floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, rising sea levels, glacial lake outbursts, droughts, deforestation and desertification are some of the manifestations of climate change due to global warming. The year 2015 has been the warmest year in the last 4000 years.

570,000 March for Climate, Just Empty Shoes in Paris

PARIS, France, November 29, 2015  – On the eve of the Paris Climate Summit, more than 570,000 people around the world took to the streets this weekend for a record-breaking Global Climate March. They sent a message to world leaders meeting in Paris Monday “to scale up action on climate change to achieve 100 percent renewable energy, eliminate poverty and protect people from worsening climate impacts,” in the words of the nonprofit Climate Action Network.
