6.5 Magnitude Earthquake in Southern Japan

15th Apr 2016

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Japan - dozens of houses collapsedtime, then few hours later another earthquake of 6.2 magnitude hit the same area. Almost 100 people are injured and 9 people have died. Peoples are trapped under the collapsed building and awaited to be rescued.

One can see the cloud formation over Pakistan on March 10. 2016.

As a news by APM was published on Feb3, 2016 on the main website and on this website as well that a solar flare caused a snow blizzard across the eastern shores of USA. So it was expected that right after winter and in the mid of March a rain spell will be observed in the North-Western Pakistan. Again a warning in Urdu was also published on Feb 13, 2016 and same is happening now. In case of torrential rains Landsliding in Malam jabba and Miandam Swat can not be ruled out. Another alert has been issued yesterday i.e. on March 10, 2016

Landslide buries 30 in Kohistan

MANSEHRA: A massive landslide struck at least seven houses in Kohistan district on Monday morning, burying alive at least 30 people.

Kohistan Deputy Commissioner Fazl-i-Khaliq told journalists that widespread rains had softened up a huge portion of a hill which fell on the houses in Thor Nullah Bari area of Kandia tehsil.

Torrential rains, landsliding block roads from 120 locations in northern areas

Frontier Works Organisation on Tuesday stated that northern areas in Pakistan have experienced worst landslides and rainstorms since 1979 while rescue operations have been conducted to restore roads and rescue the residents, reported Dunya News.

36 killed as torrential rains continue to wreak havoc in KP, Gilgit-Baltistan

Apr 3rd, 2016

At least 36 people were killed in rain-related incidents and land-slides across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, reported on Sunday.

According to details, the torrential rains in KP have inundated several villages in Ghazi Garhi while 40-canal agricultural land devastated due to ongoing downpours.

Almost 9 people died in Chilas because of similar incidents. Different members of a family in Tangir, including the parents, their two daughters and a son, lost their lives as a result of the roof of the house collapsing.

Heavy rains, landslides kill 36 in KPK, GB

Apr 3rd, 2016

SHAWAR/GILGIT: Heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslide in Peshawar and northwestern mountainous region of Gilgit Baltistan have killed more than 36 people over last 24 hours, Samaa reported.

According to officials, seven family members were killed in Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when lightning struck their house in a remote area.
