CLIMATE CHANGE ARRIVAL AT HKH

(ATABAD LAKE: This accidental lake is one of the aftermaths of Climate Change)


In HKH Pakistan, most of the summer remains dry & it rains in winter rather than snowfall. Deforestation of cloud forests of these ranges is imposing a decline in glaciers that are the life line of the entire Indus River. Absence of forests & torrential rains that had never been a part of climate scene of these highlands have accelerated landslide incidents. Atabad Lake is an example of such disaster.

APM Plantation & Mass Awareness Campaign - Swat

A Group of APM Volunteers visited Swat for Mass Awareness and inspection of our earlier plantation area & new site for future campaign. This is the very first project after the sadful demise of Chairman APM, Mohammad Raza Khan (may Allah give him highest place in janah).Though this gap can never be filled, however APM members and volunteers are in high spirit and motivated to continue the work started by Mohammad Raza Khan.

Noor Pur Plantation Campaign 2016

Forest fire season ends with tally of 160,000 hectares destroyed

The most critical period for forest fires in Portugal officially came to an end with a total of over 160,000 hectares destroyed, or more than double the average in the last eight years, according to the European Forest Fire Information System.

Eruption In Mexico Forces Hundreds Of Residents To Evacuate

Plumes of ash and streams of lava from a volcanic eruption in Mexico have forced more than 300 residents to evacuate their homes in Colima, Mexico on Friday.

On Saturday, COO of the State System of Civil Protection Melchor Ursua Quiroz issued a statement regarding the evacuation of the residents.

Flash flood risk for Nonthaburi

Residents in Nonthaburi were alerted of possible flash floods due to heavy rains over the past few days and increasing water flow from the Chao Phraya River. Nonthaburi governor Nisit Chansomwong said Sunday local authorities in the province are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared for possible floods.

SA weather: Gawler on flood emergency watch as river threatens to burst

Oct 1, 2016

Residents of the South Australian town of Gawler and surrounding areas are now on flood emergency watch as the nearby river threatens to burst.

Late on Sunday night the SES said water levels were very high in the Gawler River, which has already broken its banks in several places.

SES chief of staff Leanne Adams said crews were sourcing sandbags from outside of Adelaide to cope with the threat.
